After months of imprisonment and being labeled a permanent threat to society, Bucky realizes he’ll have to make some permanent sacrifices if he wants his freedom.\\
Notes:
1. This is NOT a "fix-it" story. The changes Bucky undergoes are permanent and won’t be reversed. There will be a mix of dark and light moments in the story.
2. This story assumes that Bucky was captured by the US government sometime after CA:TWS (the details will be revealed later on in the story). It’s assumed the government knows about the Winter Soldier’s crimes, as well as the trigger sequence.
3. I included the ‘kid fic’ tag, but this is not a traditional kid-fic story. Bucky and Steve unofficially adopt a teenager living in their building. That storyline doesn’t start until halfway through the story.
